The Purge (2013)

If you can do a crime legally for one time a year, what crime could that be?

The Purge is a 2013 American science fiction thriller film written and directed by James DeMonaco set in the year 2022. When the United States became “a nation reborn” with crime and unemployment rate set to 1% below, the government issued “Purge” – a 12-hour period in just a day a year when every criminal activity including murder, theft, rape to name a few is legal. The rules imply during the Purge that government officials ranking 10 must remain unscathed and usage of above “Class 4” is restricted.

In a wealthy Sandin Family, James Sandin (Father/Husband) a Sales agent/Security Developer made a great deal by selling security systems in each home around their neighborhood. The family became the talk of the neighborhood and eventually envied by the town. Their wealth and Mr. Sandin’s success became the leverage why the neighborhood hated them, cling to the idea of resent and made the Purge an opportunity to release negative and low points to get back to the Sandin’s family.

To ponder on:

Would you, by any chance, be in favor of the Purge?
(Consider the advantages and disadvantages)
