
Shainne Hostalero is a social entrepreneur, a marketing and communication professional, and an author/writer. She is an advocate who focuses on movements for sustainable living and Climate Action. Her substantive areas include marketing communication, development communication, knowledge management, communication policies and planning, and ICMT and Data Analytics.
Shainne is running her passion project and social enterprise, Happy Shift PH, to empower and support the local community in the many how-to’s of all-natural, sustainable, and green living. She is also the Chief Marketing and Communication Officer of Upgrade (Design + Concept), and the co-owner of Beyond Spin Laundry.
Education
Shainne holds a bachelor’s degree in Commerce with a major in Marketing Management from Far Eastern University-Manila (FEU), a Master of Development Communication from the University of the Philippines (UP), and currently taking her doctoral/post-graduate studies in Communication at UP.
She earned various certification programs from prestigious international institutions such as Journalism (Journalism for Social Change) from the University of California, Berkeley; Entrepreneurship (User Innovation) from Massachusetts Institute of Technology; Media Literacy from Arizona State University; and, Digital Branding and Engagement from Curtin University, Australia. In addition, she finished her certificate in Social Entrepreneurship from the University of the Philippines – Open University (UPOU, MODeL), and Sustainable Development Program under SDG Academy and UN Sustainable Development Network.
Affiliations
Shainne was affiliated with FEU-Junior Marketing Association (FEU-JMA) and served as their Vice-President for Projects for A.Y. 2010-2011. She was also a member of the FEU Angel C. Palanca (ACP) Peace Center, FEU Peer Counselors Group, and the Tamaraw Volunteers.
Currently, Shainne is a member of Greenpeace Southeast Asia-Philippines, the Philippine Marketing Association (PMA), Young Southeast Asian Leaders Initiative (YSEALI), Philippines Communication Society (PCS), and Junior Chamber International (JCI) – Valenzuela chapter (2022 LO Treasurer). She is also the Assistant Director of the Admissions Office for National University (NU) Campuses.

As you may also see her random musings here, Shainne is also a voracious reader who also happens to own a game console and plays during idle/free time–games that could be less intense such as Animal Crossing: New Horizons, OverCooked 2, Stardew Valley, and Asphalt 9: Legends.
